LDE225
- General Description
LDE225 is an orally bioavailable small molecule with potential antineoplastic activity. It potently inhibits both human and mouse Smo at low nanomolar concentrations in competitive binding in vitro assays. Smoothened (Smo) is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR)-like molecule that positively regulates the Hedgehog (Hh) signal transduction pathway. The Hedgehog signaling pathway plays an important role in tissue growth and repair; aberrant constitutive activation of Hedgehog pathway signaling and uncontrolled cellular proliferation may be associated with mutations in the Hedgehog-ligand cell surface receptors PTCH and SMO
